Vâlcea Naturală is a photographic journey into the landscapes and biodiversity of Vâlcea County, Romania. What began during the pandemic as an exploration of the places closest to home gradually grew into a project dedicated to discovering and documenting the region’s natural heritage.

Over several years, I explored the county’s diverse landscapes, from the wetlands of the Olt River valley and the rolling hills to ancient forests, wildflower-rich meadows, limestone gorges, and the remote wilderness of the Carpathian Mountains. Along the way, I discovered a remarkable variety of habitats, plants, and wildlife, much of which remains little known, even to the people who live here.

Through photographs and educational texts, this album invites you to discover the natural richness of Vâlcea, understand the value of its biodiversity, and see familiar places from a different perspective.
